Coach Bios

Kem Thomas

Founder and Technical Director

Professor Kem grew up in the carribean where he played soccer for the Antigua youth and senior national soccer teams. He came to the United States to play soccer for Oklahoma Wesleyan University (OWU) where he was a three-year starter. He received numerous collegiate honors including: being a three-year NAIA & NCCAA All-American Scholar Athlete, a two-year NCCAA All-American, Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) Player of the Year, and NCCAA National Tournament Most Valuable Offensive Player for two years. Kem played professionally for the Leyton Pennant Soccer Club in England, Tulsa Roughnecks in Oklahoma and the Kansas City Brass. He has a USSF National 'B' coaching license. He has led his teams to KC Champions Cup Tournament championship, Champions League Division I Championship, All American Indoor Division I Championship, Heritage Invitational Tournament Division I Championship, and Kansas State Cup Tournament semi-final. Kem was also a coach for the Kansas Olympic Development Program (ODP). He lives with his wife Carrie, and sons Samuel and Jacob in Olathe.

Jimmy Perez

Senior KEMistry Professor

Professor Jimmy is a longtime local resident and soccer enthusiast. He attended North Kansas City High School, Johnson County Community College and Park University. His knowledge and drive as a soccer skills professor result from his many years of coaching experience. He has served as head soccer coach for Futura Club, KC Blaze, KC United and the Johnson County Community College team. His Futura Club team was a two-time semi-finalist and his Missouri ODP teams were also a two-time Missouri state team representative. His professorial experience also extends to the following instructional leagues: KC Brass (PDL), KC Comets (PISL), KC Kings (PDL) and the KC Wizards Reserves. Jimmy also holds the following licenses: NSCAA Professional Development Certificate and the NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma, National B.

Alex Lima

KEMistry Professor

Professor Alex leads with all the tools necessary to excel as a soccer skills professor. He possesses exceptional communication skills that he is continuing to enhance professionally through his current pursuit of a degree in Psychology. Alex resume includes both academic and soccer participation at Johnson County Community College and Park University. Alex also has gained skills and coaching experience by playing in the International Doorway Tournament in Florida, and with Lemense F.C, a professional football club in Brazil. Alex also served as a high school head coach (2005-2007) and personal skills training coach during his stint in Brazil. Alex is also an experienced soccer camp skills professor and is the current manager of the Johnson County Community College soccer team.

David Dos Santos

KEMistry Professor

Professor David started his soccer career in Brazil. He is now apart of the KEMistry staff. One of his main focus is on the KEMdergarten program.
